9月11日，据《每日邮报》报道，英国“朋克教母”薇薇安·魏斯伍德于周五驾驶坦克，直闯首相卡梅伦地处约克郡的私人住宅，以示对使用“液压破碎法”开采页岩气破坏环境的抗议。

The Daily Mail, on September 11, reported the Mother of Punk Vivienne Westwood had driven a tank to the Prime Minister's home village in York to protest about the granting of fracking licences.

薇薇安在卡梅伦的住宅里说道：“卡梅伦指责卡扎菲、阿萨德等外国领导人对国民使用化学武器，但他自己也在英国使用危害的化学物质开采页岩气，危及民众，对他的首席科学顾问的建议置若罔闻。”

Speaking in the Prime Minister's home village, she said: “Cameron accuses foreign leaders such as President Gaddafi and President Assad of supposedly using chemicals on their own people as a justification for regime change. But he is doing precisely that here in Britain by forcing toxic, life-threatening fracking chemicals on his own people against the advice of his own chief scientist.”
