China's civil aviation sector, which was nearly dormant for the past three years due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, saw a strong rebound during this year's Spring Festival holiday.

受全球新冠肺炎疫情影响，中国民航在过去三年几乎处于休眠状态，但在今年春节假期期间出现了强劲反弹。

Yantai International Airport, which is located in East China's Shandong province, operated 6,770 flights during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, an increase of 14.8 percent year-on-year, while the passenger throughput at the airport totaled 608,031, up 24.2 percent year-on-year, according to official data.

统计数据显示，烟台国际机场春运期间累计完成航班起降6770架次，同比增长14.8%，旅客吞吐量608031人次，同比增长24.2%。

Yantai International Airport, which is located in East China's Shandong province, receives a growing number of travelers during this year's Spring Festival holiday.

春运中的烟台国际机场异常繁忙。

This year's 40-day Spring Festival travel rush began on Jan 7 and ended on Feb 15. It was the first travel rush since China optimized its COVID-19 management measures last month.

今年为期40天的春运于1月7日开始，2月15日结束。这是自上个月中国优化新冠肺炎管理措施以来的首次春运。

Currently, Yantai has resumed flights to 49 cities across the country, including Harbin, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang, and the city also added a number of new direct flights to some hot tourist destinations.

目前烟台国内通航城市已恢复48个，哈尔滨、北京、上海、沈阳、西安等航线成为春节热门线路。

Zhang Xun, manager of the market development department at the airport, said that with the fast recovery of domestic tourism market, Yantai's civil aviation sector is expected to embrace a full recovery.

机场市场开发部经理张勋表示，随着国内旅游市场的快速复苏，烟台民航行业有望全面复苏。

With the gradual and orderly recovery of outbound tourism, people are eager to fly to different countries, and Yantai International Airport has actively negotiated with outbound airlines to speed up the resumption of international air services.

国际航线方面，随着出境团队游试点恢复和全面恢复内地与港澳人员往来等政策实施，烟台国际机场也在积极协商各航空公司加快恢复烟台机场国际及地区航线。

The air freight service also witnessed a boom at the airport. During this year's Spring Festival travel rush, the air cargo handling capacity of Yantai International Airport increased by 3.3 percent to 6,813 metric tons, which has helped inject strong impetus into the city's logistics sector.

航空货运服务也见证了机场的繁荣。今年春运期间，烟台国际机场货邮吞吐量6813吨，同比增长3.3%，为地方航空物流市场复苏按下“加速键”。

Currently, seven international cargo routes from Yantai to cities including Incheon in South Korea, Japan's Tokyo and Osaka, and Milan in Italy have been resumed, and the density of international cargo routes has ranked first in Shandong.

目前，烟台国际机场运营仁川、东京、大阪、河内、米兰、列日、伊斯坦布尔7条国际货运航线，货班每周50余个100余架次，国际货运航线和货班密度均居全省第一。

According to official data, the air cargo handling capacity of Yantai airport reached 75,000 tons in 2021, the highest record since its reopening after COVID-19 measures were implemented.

官方数据显示，2021年烟台国际机场仍完成货邮吞吐量7.5万吨，创开航以来最高纪录。

This year, Yantai International Airport plans to open more direct flights to Europe and America, and resume flights to Moscow, aiming to become a more internationally recognized airport.

今年，烟台国际机场制定了“大力发展日韩、开发东南亚、远程拓展欧美”的货机发展战略，开通欧美航线，恢复莫斯科航线，致力打造辐射全国、连接日韩、面向世界的航空物流服务圈和环渤海南翼重要的空港物流中心。
