每年3月8日，联合国大家庭与全球共同庆祝国际妇女节。今年国际妇女节的主题是“数字包容：创新和技术推动性别平等”。

Every Eighth of March, the United Nations family and the world observe International Women’s Day. This year the theme for global celebrations is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.”

联合国人居署的目标是实现城市更美好的前景。今天，我们表彰那些为包容性城市发展做出贡献的妇女和女童，我们颂扬那些在自己的城市、国家乃至全球范围内推动妇女权利的女性捍卫者。

UN-Habitat aims to create a better urban future. Today, we celebrate women and girls who have contributed to inclusive urban development. We admire female champions who have advanced women's rights in their own cities, countries, and globally.

我也借此机会鼓励所有有着大胆想法的女孩。现在，我们比以往任何时候都更加需要你们。请把你的创意、激情和解决方案贡献出来，无论是在城市、国家，还是全世界。

I also take this opportunity to encourage all the girls out there with bold ideas. Now more than ever, we need you. Bring your innovations, passions, and solutions to the table. In the city, in the country, and in the world.

我们的未来无疑是数字化的。我们的城市和人类住区的未来也是数字化的。技术有能力使我们的城市和生活变得包容和公平。然而，如果我们忽视了数字性别鸿沟，我们最终将会加剧现有的城市不平等。

Our future is undoubtedly digital. The future of our cities and human settlements is also digital. Technology has the power to make our cities and lives inclusive and fair. However, if we ignore the digital gender gap, we can end up widening existing urban inequalities.

作为联合国人居署的执行主任，我希望看到更多的女性在城市规划和关键的城市岗位上工作。为妇女和女童设计的城市和城镇便是为所有人设计的城市和城镇。

As the Executive Director of UN-Habitat, I want to see more women in urban planning and key city positions. Cities and towns designed for women and girls are cities and towns designed for all.

我们需要确保妇女成为城市决策的一部分，例如，制定规划、制定预算或提供基本服务，这些决策塑造了其所在城市的形貌。我们必须利用智能技术来确保妇女和女童能够享受到城市的福利。老年妇女或残疾妇女可能发现自己被排除在积极参与的机会之外。技术可以弥合这一鸿沟，使我们的城市真正实现无障碍和包容性。

We need to make sure women are part of the decision-making shaping their cities. It can be planning, budgeting, or provision of basic services. We must use smart technologies to ensure that urban benefits reach women and girls. Older women or women with disabilities might find themselves excluded from active participation. Technology can bridge the gap and make our cities truly accessible and inclusive.

联合国人居署的数字平台“她的城市工具箱”，赋予妇女和女童参与城市建设的能力，让妇女能发出自己的声音。我们在350个城市开展工作。但我们还可以做得更多，我们希望让世界上更多的城市参与进来。

UN-Habitat’s digital Her City Toolbox empowers women and girls to take part in city-making and gives women a voice. We work in 350 cities. But we can do much more. We want to involve more cities around the world.

我相信妇女必须参与讨论。作为性别平等倡导者，我曾承诺确保在全球公共论坛上实现性别均等。我们在第十届世界城市论坛上实现了发言人的性别均等，在去年举办的第十一届世界城市论坛上实现了整体的性别均等。我呼吁其他的组织和领导人们共同确保妇女的声音得到聆听！

I believe that women must be at the table. As a gender champion, I made a commitment to ensure we achieved gender parity at global public forums. We achieved panel parity at WUF10 and gender parity at WUF11 last year. I call on other leaders and organisations to ensure women are heard!

我也鼓励城市以及在城市领域工作的同仁们为所有妇女和女童创造有意义的参与方式，并邀请她们成为城市变革的一部分。

I also encourage cities and urban colleagues to create ways for all women and girls to participate meaningfully and invite them to be part of urban transformations.

致所有那些在“城市如何让每个人生活更美好”方面有大胆想法的妇女和女童，让我们一起把这些设想都变成现实吧!

And to all the women and girls with bold ideas about how to make our cities better for everyone – let’s make them a reality together!
