Many claim that panda caretaker is one of the happiest jobs in the world, and now, you have the chance to take a run at it too! The "Panda & Me" giant panda volunteer experience global campaign, sponsored by the Press office of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, has announced its worldwide recruitment!

Groundbreaking! Chengdu Builds an Island for the "Unicorns"

成都真的专门为“独角兽”建了一座岛

On July 30th, construction officially broke ground for the Tianfu New Area "Unicorn Island," which is located on the eastern shore of Xinglong Lake in the core region of the Deer Creek Wisdom Valley. Boasting a total floor space of approximately 1.45 million square meters, the Unicorn Island will be built in two phases, with the first stage slated to finish by the end of 2019 and the second stage scheduled to be fully completed in 2022. 

A "unicorn" refers to a company valued at over one billion US dollars and that was founded not long ago. Chengdu is building this island with the hope of attracting foreign unicorns to the city and to cultivate and incubate its own unicorns, as well as providing a chance for start-ups to transform into the next unicorn.

7月30日，全球首个“独角兽岛”项目在成都天府新区正式开工建设。项目位于兴隆湖东侧，鹿溪智谷核心区，总建筑面积约145万平方米。一期工程预计2019年底建成；二期工程2022年全面建成。独角兽公司，指的是估值在10亿美元以上估值，创办时间相对较短的公司。成都建这个岛，不仅希望从外界吸引独角兽过来，还要培育、孵化四川自己的独角兽企业，给更多起步型企业机会，让他们成长为下一个独角兽。

成都超高层新地标“画像”来了

In recent days, the architectural design firm for Tianfu New Area's ultra high-rise landmark skyscraper was confirmed, and the project's bid-winning proposal was also unveiled at the same time. 

The design incorporates the spirit in traditional Chinese landscape painting and will architecturally reimagine and reiterate Chengdu's well-known "snow-crowned Xiling Mountain as seen from the windows". Meanwhile, urban landscapes will be blended organically with natural sceneries, and a verdant forest will be created inside the concrete tower so as to form a "three-dimensional garden" in conjunction with the surrounding community. The design will even assimilate Chengdu's instrumental role in the "Belt and Road" into the architecture. It has been understood that this super high-rise could very well become the highest structure in China. 

近日，天府新区的超高层地标性建筑中标设计单位已经确定，该项目意向方案同时公布。设计融入中国传统山水画意境，以建筑形态重现成都“窗含西岭千秋雪”绝美意境；将城市融入自然，在塔楼里打造森林景观，与周边社区形成“立体公园”；设计还将成都服务“一带一路”建设的理念融入塔楼。据了解，这个超高层地标未来很可能成为中国最高的建筑。
