2023年11月10日至2023年12月24日，浦东碧云美术馆呈现“记忆的形象：池村玲子与沈远”。展览通过展示池村玲子（瑞士）与沈远（法国）两位同时代女性艺术家创作生涯中的经典之作，构建一场跨文化和地理疆界的对话，引发观众对文化迁移、记忆及女性身份等种问题的思考。展览由郭小晖担任策展人。

二位艺术家都是由亚洲的国家移居欧洲。池村玲子21岁时离开日本前往西班牙，后从西班牙到瑞士生活工作，之后又于1983年从瑞士到德国定居。沈远于1990年离开中国，与丈夫艺术家黄永砯一起搬到巴黎，在那里生活工作。这种跨文化的生活背景为她们的创作带来不同寻常的灵感，同时也深刻影响了她们的创作实践。

Leiko Ikemura 的作品涵盖绘画、油画、雕塑、摄影和诗歌。她的作品和世界观都明显受到了她所经历过的不同文化的影响，并持续关注对自然、女性和生死循环节奏的探索。她的大部分作品都具有象征主义元素，艺术家将动物、人类和植物等元素为描绘对象并将它们融合在一起，通过各类艺术媒介深入探讨世界的源起，创造出神奇的宇宙。

沈远的作品多数聚焦于移民经历、身份认知、旅行和生活。移居巴黎后，移民身份令她开始新的创作，对身份和语言的探究成为其作品中很重要的主题。沈远有着作为女性艺术家的敏感，自身的经历和对外界的观察成为了她的灵感源泉。她邀请大众反思这些境况，而不将任何价值判断加之于上。她的作品表达了艺术家对迁徙、语言、记忆与身体和文化之间的感受，为不同文化间的诗意邂逅创造了空间。

本次展览将在上海双年展期间同期举办。

From November 10, 2023, to December 24, 2023, Shanghai Being Art Museum presents the dialogue exhibition “The Image of Memory: Leiko Ikemura and Shen Yuan”. The exhibition presents significant artworks from two women artists — Leiko Ikemura and Shen Yuan. The exhibition attempts to open a dialogue across cultural and geographical boundaries through their art works, raising questions around memory, immigration, and female identity. The exhibition is curated by Guo Xiaohui.

Both of them are non-western artists living in the West. Leiko Ikemura left Japan at the age of 21 to study in Spain, she then lived and worked in Switzerland, and settled in Germany in 1986. Shen Yuan left China in 1990 and moved to Paris, where she joined her husband, the artist Huang Yong Ping. This cross-cultural background has provided them with a unique perspective and has also profoundly influenced their art practice.

Leiko Ikemura's work spans the genres of drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and poetry. At the center of her work is an exploration of nature, femininity and the cyclical rhythm of life and death. Many of her works feature elements of a mythological narratives, involving the creation of magical universes blending elements of animals, human figures, and plants.

Shen Yuan expresses her feelings about immigration, language, and the relationship between the body and politics. After moving to Paris, her immigrant status led her to explore the feeling about identity and language and became an important part of her work. Her works create places for poetical encounters between cultures. The artist invites the public to reflect without imposing value judgements.

沈 远

Shen Yuan

沈远，1959年出生于福建仙游，1982年毕业于浙江美术学院，自1990年工作和生活在法国巴黎。沈远自浙江美术学院毕业后，开始参与中国的85‘美术运动，并参加了在中国美术馆举办的历史性展览“中国现代艺术大展”。

她举办的主要个展包括：《沈远：垂钓》（红砖美术馆，北京，2022）、《无墙》(北京民生现代美术馆，北京，2017)、《沉远:急促的话语》(尤伦斯当代艺术中心，北京，2009)等。她参加的主要群展包括：《1989后的艺术与中国》 (古根海姆美术馆，纽约，2017)、《重新发电：第九届上海双年展》(上海，2012) 、《第52届威尼斯双年展中国馆》(威尼斯，2007)、《光州双年展》(光州，2006)、《艺术的力量》(大皇宫，巴黎，2006)、《圣保罗双年展》(圣保罗，2002)、 《中国/前卫》(国家美术馆，北京，1989)。

沈远的作品被诸多国际知名美术馆与艺术机构收藏，包括：西岸美术馆、北京民生现代美术馆，上海当代艺术博物馆，法国巴黎国立移民历史城博物馆与香港M+。

Shen Yuan (沈远) was born in Xianyou (China) and lives and works in Paris, France. After graduating from the Fine Arts Academy of Zhejiang in China, Shen Yuan participated in the Chinese “avant-garde” movement. Shortly after participating in Beijing’s historical exhibition, she left China and moved to Paris.

Her work has been shown in numerous solo shows, both in France and abroad at the Power Station of Art, Shanghai, China (2018)，kamel mennour, Paris, France (2015)，Minsheng Art Museum, Beijing, China (2015)，UCCA-Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing (2009), the Centre A, Vancouver (2007), Chisenhale Gallery, London (2001), French Institute, London, UK（2001) and Kunsthalle Bern in Switzerland (2000).

She took part in numerous group exhibitions, including at the Centre Pompidou x West Bund Museum (2019), at MAXXI, Rome (2019), SF MoMA (2019), Guggenheim Bilbao (2018), Guggenheim NY (2017), Monnaie de Paris (2017), and at Musée Cernuschi, Paris (2011 and 2021); as well as Shenzhen Biennale (2017), the Busan Biennale (2016), the Shanghai Biennale (2012), the Venice Biennale (2007), the Gwangju Biennale (2006), the Liverpool Biennial (2004) (Mennour Gallery) .

Shen Yuan’s works are in the collections of: Centre Pompidou x West Bund Museum, Mingsheng Museum, Power Station of Art, Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration and M+.

池村玲子

池村玲子（出生于日本三重县津市）是一位瑞士籍日裔艺术家，目前在科隆和柏林两地工作，并在柏林高等艺术学院教授绘画。1972 年，池村离开日本，在西班牙塞维利亚学习艺术，1979 年移居瑞士，1980 年代定居德国。自 20 世纪 70 年代以来，她一直活跃在全球艺术舞台上，因其在 20 世纪 80 年代新表现主义运动中的作品以及不断演变的风格而闻名。

Leiko Ikemura (イケムラレイコ) was born in Japan and is now based in Berlin and Cologne, Germany. She has had a highly acclaimed career, spanning over four decades. Ikemura left Japan in 1972 and studied art in Seville, Spain, before moving to Switzerland in 1979, and then settling in Germany in the 1980ies. The influence of the different cultures she has lived in is apparent in her attitude both to her work and to the world.

Leiko Ikemura's works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions internationally since the early 1980s. In 2023 solo exhibitions were presented at Museum de Fundatie, NL, Museo de Arte Zapopan, Guadalajara, Mexico and Georg Kolbe Museum, Berlin, Germany. Further solo exhibitions were presented at (selection): Museum für Asiatische Kunst, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (2022); CAC La Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències Valencia, Spain (2022); Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Norwich, UK (2021); Centro de Arte Caja Burgos, Spain (2021); Kunsthalle Rostock, Germany (2020); St. Matthäuskirche, Berlin (2020); Kunstmuseum Basel, Switzerland (2019); Nordiska Akvarellmuseet, Skärhamn, Sweden (2019); The National Art Center, Tokyo, Japan (2019); Nevada Museum of Art, Reno, USA (2016); Museum of East Asian Art, Cologne (2015); The Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum, Mishima, Japan (2014); Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, Germany (2013); Asian Art Museum, Berlin (2012) and The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Japan (2011).

About the Curator

郭小晖

Guo Xiaohui

郭小晖是一位活跃在全球当代艺术领域的策展人与研究者，现居北京和伦敦两地。她于2013年和2014年分别获得伦敦金匠学院（Goldsmiths, University of London）的双硕士学位（艺术与政治、文化研究）。郭小晖在艺术领域拥有多年的工作经历，并从中获得丰富的知识和策展经验。她关注中国当代艺术在全球的发展，致力于链接中国和西方的前沿当代艺术，迄今为止她在海外和中国成功策划和组织了多个展览。星丛幻想曲：青年艺术计划邀请展（上海碧云美术馆，重庆原美术馆，2023）; 在世界之间行走：刘商英 (西海美术馆，青岛，2022); 国际当代女性艺术家作品展（中国美术馆，山东美术馆，2022）；绘画的逻辑（石家庄美术馆，新疆美术馆，2020-2021）；超越边界：中央美术学院&斯莱德艺术学院教师联展（萨默塞特宫美术馆，英国伦敦，2019）;程然个展(CCA，以色列，2018)；记忆成为早晨(成都当代美术馆, 2016)等。

BEING ART MUSEUM

上海浦东碧云美术馆是浦东新区人民政府立项兴建的第一所集收藏、研究展览、审美教育、文化交流、公众服务于一体的公立美术馆。于2022年成为上海美术馆协会理事单位，坐落于上海市浦东新区金桥碧云国际社区的黄金位置，总建筑面积约为5100平方米，其中展览面积约1900平方米、三楼两个露台花园，并包含一个近400平方米的恒温恒湿地下作品仓储空间，致力于打造以「新海派」文化为核心的「新美术馆」空间。
