On March 28, Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2024 held a session with the theme “Green Development: Inspiring a Shared Future for Urban & Rural Communities”. Secretary General Li Baodong announced at the session that the first conference of BFA Global Urban and Rural Development Forum (GURD) will be held on 30-31 May in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, co-hosted by Boao Forum for Asia, Sichuan Provincial Government and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The GURD conference will be co-chaired by Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, member of BFA Council of Advisors and Former Prime Minister of France; and Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO.

Focused on green development, GURD emphasizes the integrated development of modern cities and beautiful villages, facilitating the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and promoting a green, inclusive and sustainable recovery of the global economy.
